Bill of Materials

 

Introduction

The Bill of Materials system allows the setting up and displaying for any particular assembly a list of all sub-assemblies, purchase parts and raw materials involved in its manufacture, showing the quantity of each required.

Features

• User defined parts listings are coded and can be individually enquired on for "where used" and "used on" reports
• Indented explosion reports where each component for an assembly is displayed by indenting the part number in relation to the assembly where it is used
• Implosion reports showing in which assemblies any particular part is used
• The system can be linked to other Axiom-MSS applications packages in the fields of production and costing

A Closer Look

• Some of the Bill of Material displays available:
  • Single level - showing all the immediate components of an assembly
  • Indented - showing all lower level parts at the level where they occur
  • ‘Where used’ displays all assemblies and parts used
  • Bill of Material part list extended for any number of assemblies showing all immediate components with their usable quantities extended by an entered batch quantity
    
    
• The following structure relationship functions can be used:
  • Add, Change and Delete structure
  • Replace a component wherever it is used
  • Delete a component wherever it occurs
  • Duplicate an existing structure under a new assembly part number
  • Delete all components for a specified assembly
